Sebuah Sajak Sia-Sia
Dear Luv,
Shalom Aleichem,
Tapi bukankah ke-sia-sia-anlah yang mengajarkan kita tentang ke-ada-an?
Apakah sekarang kamu tersenyum, Luv?
Mari kita berbincang kembali tentang hujan, meskipun menjadi sia-sia. Lalu kembali tertawa bersama di tengah ejekan hujan.
Mencintaimu adalah (bukan) sesuatu yang sia-sia.
Luv,

Little Scraps of My Old Broken Mind
How I'm proud to read this, knowing that I didn't just give up right there and then, no matter how I was on the brink of a major breakdown. But hey, I wasn't even allowed to whine, let alone give in. Stand tall, duck down, walk slow, run fast, fly high, fall hard, through and through. No regret.

Veronika yang Hidup
Dear Luv,
Semoga hidup memberikan yang terbaik bagimu.
Terlalu lama sudah jiwa ini tidak menyapamu. Aku baik, little ups and downs here and there, but am fine, as always. Hidup tidak selalu sempurna, but it's always beautiful, defiantly.
Did I miss u? I did. I always do and always will.
It was amazing that I learned so much dari mereka yang bahkan tidak bermaksud memberikan pelajaran.
Hal terpenting adalah aku belajar tentang bagaimana bersyukur. Really, I'm grateful with what I have.
Di saat aku mulai melupakan Veronika, they give meaning to Veronika a whole new level. And I feel so blessed and proud to know them, Veronika yang hidup.
... and let's our minds open, evolve and produce.

Marriage by Society
Dear Luv,
Well, we can say that, in a way.
Note the key word: hampir semua orang. Yeah, what can I say, aku sering termasuk ke dalam sepersekian orang that beg to differ in few other things.
The girl, who married her lover, is pregnant. She is about six month long and had kept it a secret until about a week ago. Hmm...
Tapi kenapa? Well, in a society like theirs, all those reasons are valid. She is just a year or two over twenty, just graduated from college and unemployed. Her lover isn't even graduated, at the same age or maybe even younger, he is also unemployed and scared shitless with the situation.
As I learned about them from our short encounter through people around us in these two days of helping her with the wedding, they're simply adorable. Both of the bride and groom are young and naive. They're both scared and really, this wedding thing is probably the bravest thing they've ever done until now. But, taking care of their coming child will top that, obviously.
Why did I say so? Because they have through every steps in her pregnancy together. The boy religiously goes to every appointment with the obsgyn. The girl is taking care of her unborn baby very well. It's like they live in their own exclusive world and so damn afraid that if they tell others their little perfect world will fall apart.
But hey, reality sucks guys. As it is written with an invisible ink in the norm and codes of their society, but everyone must obey nonetheless, they have to enter marriage to have good closure before the society's eyes. Or else, everyone in their society will judge and call their unborn child as a little bastard when the baby is born outside marriage. If you know what I mean.
So they finally told their folks and finally got married this morning. What's with the above keyword? The groom has only one person by his side. No friend, no relative, not even his parents and family attended.
He steps into this marriage thing alone. Granted, with his girl and unborn child, but he is actually alone. If you know what I mean.
No one should put the blame and judgement to them. They love each other, they're both adult, legal age, maybe irresponsible at first, but the future of their life and the coming little one is what matters, nothing else. Even if they decide to not enter marriage, that should none of anyone's concern. They've proven that they love each other and try their ass off to be a dedicated parents for the unborn child. For me, that's enough, as long as they keep doing what's best for the little one that'll see the world in less than few months.
Go to hell for those hypocrite, arrogant and selfish jerks. Just do us a favor, pack your butt and sod off.
Let's open our minds to evolve and produce.

story 2: kunjungan
Sendirian?
Kamu mengangguk sembari menyesap kopi pahitmu. Hitam.
Kita hanya diam, duduk berhadapan dalam pelukan malam. Di luar sana hujan turun semakin deras.
Belahan Jiwaku, Apa Kabar?

Petrichor
Dear Luv,
It's been awhile. Life's good, it's always good. I made many compromises, adjustments, apologies and many others. Life is not perfect, well not always :) yet life is beautiful, as always.
Yes, my child is fine, he's my treasure. He's the love of my life.
Sungguh, banyak hal terjadi tidak hanya padaku tapi juga sekitarku, marriages, travels --yang dekat dan yang jauh--, friendship --new and old--, birthdays and even goodbyes. Bumi berputar, tapi bulan juga berotasi. We're not alone, and definitely not the only one.

an egg sandwich on a back seat of a taxi
As I am writing this, I remember my breakfast this morning, it was an homemade egg sandwich. Yummy. And my stomach started to growl again, ha! I enjoy writing as much as I enjoy food and travelling. In many ways it's interesting, though sometimes tiring, boring and feel like I had enough. Perhaps that the reason why I haven't written much lately.
Speaking of travel, I traveled last week. Only a short trip to a place where modernity, logic and mature blend, and I was wondering of post-modernity while going to that place. Not the shortest trip, neither a comprehensive travel. The only comprehensive conversation happened on my way back to the airport. The 45 minutes talk on the back seat of a taxi brought my mind away to pages of post-modernity somewhere in the library's books.
The driver, a Chinese-Buddhist middle-aged man. He talked much about pluralism in his country and how he defined himself as a Chinese-Buddhist man in the world of modern-plural-advance minded small country. As long as I could remember, he talked more than I did. It was good, though. Everything is neat, clean, rules are obeyed, people seem satisfy with all circumstances, and things are on its each tracks and speed.
The plurality mixed, mingle but not blend. They are who they are. No border, but race and ethnic define. Life is on harmony. It's sandwich. But hey, it seems like a dry and crisp life, Red's Dad said. Flat, I said. Well, everything on its price. Nothing is free.
Does it what people wanna have in the citizenship life and our relation to our state? Rules and regulations are obeyed, low criminality, neat and orderly living, high income, good job, good housing and clothing... what's missing from the list? What are we thinking when quality of life comes across our mind? What will we put as criteria and priority?
The conversation ended as he gave me the bill. The words are echoing on my way back home: nothing is free...
For now I'll say: a delicious healthy egg sandwich and a cup of hot green tea will complete my qualified Monday morning. A qualified Monday morning, of course, includes Red waking up late, ha! And I must add here that I grilled the onion (not the usual), to gain its juice. Things need more work sometimes to return its best quality.
...and let our minds open, evolve and produce.
bon appetit,

red berry vs purple red
Dear Luv,
Oh well.
Eniwei, regardless its bad review, rambut si pemeran utama wanita inspired me. She dyed her hair red. Yes, it's red. Bukan maroon atau brown, tapi red. Iya, red seperti red berry. Dengan inspirasi tersebut, kemarin I decided to dye mine red, bukan red berry tapi purple red. I have not enough guts to have red berry hair haha...
cheers,

a girl name Niar and her Cucumbers, Limes and Bananas #2
Dear Luv,
As I read my first post with the same title, now I can answer my own question:
"Twenty thousands rupiah can do so much for her and her family, how much is it for us? a cup of frappucino and a cup of lemon tea that we used to sip? a pack of your cigar? a bar of my dark chocolate? hmm..."
Twenty thousands rupiah at this moment, can do so much for me too. It is about 3 kilos rice or two take-away meals or two days self-cooked meals for my little family. It did so much for Niar, it even do much more for me and my little family now.

:: a privilege of being an expectant #4: shopping time ::
Dear Luv,
Gak terasa udah masuk bulan ke-8.
Baju-baju kecil, grita, popok, sarung tangan - sarung kaki... and all those little cute things aaaw... membuatku lupa akan kondisi fisikku. Setiap kali berhenti dan mengamati item tertentu, aku terpukau, this is it, I'm shopping for my child. Kyaa...!
Well of course, for me all colors have no sex, jd asal bahannya bagus, harga terjangkau dan sesuai kebutuhan, no matter what color, I bought them. But when I came to ribbon-decorated little shoes, aku jd bertanya, warna gak masalah tapi pita? Hmm... kalau nanti anakku laki-laki maka anggap aja ini pelajaran pertama tentang being-gender-neutral hahaha...
Hmm... harus mengingat tentang keterbatasan energi lain kali. Alrite, that's all for now, I'll see you in the next (shopping) session :)
luv,
